Tatneft limits gasoline and diesel sales nationwide, switches to cash-only payments

Russian oil producer Tatneft has temporarily restricted gasoline and diesel sales at its fuel stations across the country and is accepting only cash payments. The move is being watched as a knock-on effect from recent Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian refining facilities. Moscow’s mayor said a facility at Gazprom Neft’s Moscow oil refinery was damaged in a drone strike, though emergency services later said the fire was extinguished and operations were not affected. The report added that Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian refineries have doubled since the start of 2026, disrupting output of gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, according to Interfax.
