South Korea fines Bithumb 210 million won for transferring user data abroad without consent

South Korean authorities ordered Bithumb to pay a 210 million won ($136,000) penalty for violating personal information protection rules. The sanction stems from cases in which user data was shared with overseas platforms without proper consent, according to the Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC).
