Indian tanker Sanmar Herald, previously fired on by IRGC, transits Strait of Hormuz with two other India-flagged supertankers
India-flagged crude oil tanker Sanmar Herald, which was fired on and forced to turn back on April 18, completed its return transit through the Strait of Hormuz in late June, roughly two months after the incident. Two other India-flagged supertankers also crossed the strait over the same period. The earlier firing was described as part of Iran’s response to a US naval blockade, underlining the security risks to shipping through the waterway. There was no report of an oil spill or a prolonged shutdown of crude flows, but the episode highlighted heightened transport risks tied to oil markets.
