ArcelorMittal teams up with AWS to roll out AI and edge computing across global steel operations
ArcelorMittal said it has entered a strategic collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to deploy AI and edge computing to optimise steel production across its global operations. The companies also signed a multiyear framework under which ArcelorMittal will supply lower-carbon XCarb® structural steel to Amazon facilities in Europe and the United Kingdom, as well as AWS data centres. The agreement is intended to support Amazon’s goal of reaching net-zero carbon by 2040 and strengthen its green infrastructure supply chain. The announcement did not include changes to ArcelorMittal’s financial guidance or capacity plans and carries no direct near-term earnings impact for AMZN.
