Anthropic Shuts Off Fable 5 and Mythos 5 Globally After June 12 U.S. Security Order

Anthropic says it disabled its Fable 5 and Mythos 5 AI models for all users worldwide after a U.S. government directive required the company to block access for any foreign national. The company said the order arrived June 12 at 5:21 p.m. Eastern and that it could not reliably enforce the restriction in real time without a full shutdown, while noting other Anthropic models remain available.
