ZachXBT Warns AscendEX May Face Liquidity Strain as Users Cite Prolonged Withdrawal Delays
ChainCatcher reports that on-chain investigator ZachXBT posted an alert on X after multiple AscendEX users said withdrawals have been delayed for days to weeks, with some claiming transactions failed to process altogether.
ZachXBT said a review of AscendEX's known hot wallets using Arkham and TRM indicates the exchange holds limited reserves of major large-cap assets including ETH, USDT and SOL, raising concerns about potential liquidity issues.
AscendEX, formerly Bitmax, was founded in 2018 by George Cao and Ariel Ling. The exchange was hit by a Lazarus Group cyberattack in December 2021, with losses estimated at about $78 million.
