Volta Infra closes $300M venture round led by Andreessen Horowitz and Altimeter, lines up $5B customer financing

Volta Infra Holdings, an AI cloud infrastructure provider, said it has raised $300 million in a venture funding round co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and Altimeter Capital. NVIDIA and Dell Technologies founder Michael Dell also participated, according to Bloomberg. The company said it has also arranged a $5 billion customer financing pool designed to help small and medium-sized AI businesses reduce the upfront cost of buying NVIDIA's high-end chips. Volta disclosed a six-year cloud services agreement valued at $10 billion with an unnamed leading AI developer. Delivery will be done in partnership with Bitdeer, using its 133-megawatt data center in Norway. Volta was co-founded earlier this year by former Brookfield Asset Management infrastructure executives Ricard Boada and Sofia Gumuzio. The company said it has already secured 1 gigawatt of data center power capacity and plans to develop new sites in Texas and Wyoming, targeting multiple gigawatts of computing capacity by 2030.
