MANTRA has published an Aug. 20 incident report detailing a theft linked to an integer underflow flaw in the Cosmos EVM. The attacker used the vulnerability to move 720.924 million MANTRA tokens from two addresses, valued at about $3.6 million based on a token price of $0.005.
According to the report, 600 million tokens were taken from a burned address and 121 million from the genesis multisig address. MANTRA said the incident did not involve compromised validator or administrator keys.

MANTRA said 683 million of the stolen tokens have since been sent to exchange deposit addresses. A further 37.96 million tokens have been frozen. Recovery efforts are now being pursued as part of a law enforcement investigation.
