Franklin Templeton teams up with HashKey to roll out tokenized money market fund for Asia
AI Market Summary
Franklin Templeton's partnership with HashKey to distribute a tokenized U.S. government money market fund to professional investors in Asia reinforces institutional adoption of on-chain real-world assets. The multijurisdictional distribution footprint (Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Dubai, Bermuda) broadens access and signals further tokenized product expansion. With tokenized U.S. Treasuries already a large share of RWA value, the news supports near-term confidence in crypto-linked capital-market rails.

Franklin Templeton has partnered with Hong Kong's HashKey Exchange to offer the Franklin OnChain U.S. Government Liquidity Fund through HashKey's Earn channel, bringing a tokenized money market fund product to professional investors across Asia, The Block reported.
The fund invests mainly in U.S. government money market instruments and U.S. dollar cash assets. It is not currently available to Hong Kong retail investors.
Franklin Templeton said the collaboration is expected to extend beyond tokenized money market funds to a wider suite of tokenized offerings. Distribution would leverage HashKey's multi-jurisdictional platform spanning Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Dubai and Bermuda.
Franklin Templeton previously launched Hong Kong's first tokenized money market fund in November 2025.
Market data show that, as of August 23, the total value of tokenized real-world assets (RWA) globally reached $38.2 billion, with tokenized U.S. Treasuries representing about $15.6 billion.
