SpaceX has disclosed in its S-1 registration statement filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that it holds 18,712 bitcoins. Based on a bitcoin price of roughly $63,000, the stake is worth about $1.18 billion, placing SpaceX as the world's eighth-largest company by publicly reported bitcoin holdings. Tesla, another Elon Musk-controlled public company, is reported to hold 11,509 bitcoins, bringing the combined total for the two firms to 30,221 bitcoins.
