Vivek Ramaswamy’s asset manager Strive has purchased 1,100 Bitcoin valued at about $85 million. The transaction has been publicly reported. It was described as a large, institutional-scale on-chain or over-the-counter buy.

IBM has introduced a next-generation dual-architecture mainframe processor that can natively run both Arm and IBM Z workloads on the same core. The 11-core chip can switch modes dynamically and is positioned to make it easier for enterprises to bring Arm-native Linux software into mainframe environments while tapping an ecosystem of more than 22 million Arm developers. IBM says the Arm capabilities deliver 100% binary compatibility and will be used in future IBM Z and LinuxONE systems to support enterprise AI use cases.

Xpeng reported unaudited second-quarter revenue of 19.74 billion yuan, up 8.0% year on year and 51.5% from the prior quarter, landing near the lower end of its guidance range. Gross margin improved to 20.7%. Net loss widened to 1.34 billion yuan, up 179% from a year earlier but narrower than the first quarter, while non-GAAP net loss was 1.24 billion yuan.

Comstock has completed the sale of its mining assets to Mackay Precious Metals, valuing the transaction at more than $45 million. The company has received $20 million in cash and shares currently valued at about $4.5 million, with a secured second-tranche payment of $7 million due within 18 months. Comstock expects to record a gain of approximately $10 million to $12 million and will retain a 1.5% net smelter return royalty.

South Korea’s Shinhan Bank said it will issue won-pegged real-world asset (RWA) tokens on the Solana blockchain to tap a tokenization market valued at $30 trillion. The move brings traditional financial assets into Solana’s public-chain ecosystem, marking further adoption of on-chain RWA use cases by major financial institutions. The initiative is expected to expand enterprise use cases on Solana and increase the amount of on-chain assets.

Goodyear reiterated the planned closure in its Aug. 5 second-quarter earnings announcement, saying the Fayetteville facility will be closed as part of a strategy to “align its footprint with its evolving product portfolio and improve the competitiveness of its manufacturing network in the Americas.” The company expects the action to improve Americas segment operating income by about $90 million in 2027 and approximately $270 million annually beginning in 2028, according to the earnings release.
