Ethereum Foundation Sells 5,000 ETH to Bitmine for $10.2M at $2,042.96 per Token

The Ethereum Foundation sold 5,000 ETH to Bitmine for $10.2 million in an over-the-counter transaction priced at $2,042.96 per token, with proceeds allocated to protocol research and development, ecosystem grants, and core activities. The deal was structured off open exchanges to avoid price impact that had prompted community criticism of earlier sales. Bitmine, the largest publicly listed ETH treasury company, holds 4.53 million ETH valued at $9.4 billion and aims to accumulate 5% of total ETH supply. The Foundation is staking up to 70,000 ETH while selling a smaller portion.
