Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. is investing another $100 billion to expand its north Phoenix wafer-fab complex, a project that uses 4.75 million gallons of water per day. The company says its onsite system currently recycles 65% of that intake—about 3.5 million gallons daily—and it aims to lift reuse to 90% or more by 2028. The unrecycled portion has raised questions from residents and water policy experts about long-term supply in a desert region facing Colorado River cuts.

Intel shares have risen about 140% in 2026. Wedbush analyst Matt Bryson said the price of Intel’s Arc Pro B70 workstation GPU has increased by as much as 48% across markets in roughly one month. Intel reported second-quarter revenue of $16.13 billion, up 25.4% year over year, with EPS of $0.42. Data Center and AI revenue jumped 59% to $6.26 billion, while Intel Foundry revenue rose 31% to $5.77 billion.

Global gold ETFs posted net inflows for a fifth consecutive week, with $6.38 billion added over the week, including $4.37 billion into the U.S. and $1.07 billion into the UK. Gold has rallied recently, up nearly 15% over the past month and 6% over the past week, trading at $4,676 an ounce. Year-to-date net inflows into gold ETFs have reached $2.6 billion.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta called off settlement talks involving Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery, accusing the company of “playing games.” Bonta and a dozen other attorneys general have already filed an antitrust lawsuit seeking to block the merger. If the deal is derailed, it could trigger divestitures of Warner Bros. assets and rack up more than $1 billion in “tickingclock” fees ahead of a March trial.

Amazon is facing a class-action lawsuit alleging its Twitch platform used streamers’ videos to train AI models without permission or proper compensation. Filed by a Connecticut-based streamer, the complaint is brought on behalf of millions of creators seeking damages. It also asks the court to bar Amazon from continuing the alleged practice. Amazon bought Twitch for nearly $1bn (£740m) in 2014 and has made AI a major focus as it competes with Google, Meta and other tech companies.
