Strategy sold 1,690 bitcoin last week for $108.6 million, at an average price of $64,262 per coin, below its $75,385 average purchase cost. The company raised $653.1 million from selling MSTR shares, directing $650 million into its dollar reserve. Proceeds from the bitcoin sale were used to buy back 1,152,020 STRC preferred shares. Strategy’s dollar reserve reached $4.65 billion, while it held 840,447 bitcoin with an unrealized paper loss of about $9.7 billion.

BNB Chain’s number of stablecoin-holding addresses has climbed to 79.3 million, surpassing Tron’s 76.1 million and ending Tron’s long-running lead in the ranking. The count is up 54.5% since late 2024, rising from roughly 42 million to nearly 80 million. Ethereum follows with about 26 million addresses, ahead of Celo at 24.5 million and Polygon at 21.7 million. BNB trades around $610.70, up 7.2% over the past 30 days, and is testing its 100-day moving average near $602 with the 200-day moving average around $647 as the next resistance.

Japan-listed Metaplanet has transferred 3,881 bitcoin worth about $250 million. The company now holds 43,000 BTC and recently bought 2,823 BTC, but its plan to reach 100,000 BTC by the end of 2026 has slowed. With an average purchase price just over $96,000 and more than $4.1 billion invested, its paper loss has widened to $1.4 billion after bitcoin’s sharp pullback.

National Bank of Canada disclosed its holdings in several cryptocurrency ETFs in a 13F filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. As of June 30, the bank reported positions including the Bitwise XRP ETF, the ProShares Bitcoin ETF, the Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund, and the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust ETF. Its largest crypto investment was the Fidelity fund, valued at about $3.07 million. The bank also held a smaller position in the Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust ETF, and its shares have risen 53% over the past 12 months.

Ethereum recorded 989,500 active addresses over 24 hours, the highest level since early March. Wallet activity jumped even as ETH hovered near $1,870, according to on-chain data provider Santiment. Validator participation continues to underpin the network by locking native ETH to propose blocks and validate state changes, supporting billions of dollars in value. US spot Ethereum ETF products took in about $245 million in net inflows in the first week of August, extending a five-week streak of inflows and pointing to continued demand for ETH as a gas token.
