SpaceX plans to build Terafab, an industrial facility billed as the world’s largest, with an initial investment of $55 billion and a total of $119 billion if additional phases are completed. The project is designed to include more than 100 million square feet of manufacturing space and an estimated internal volume of around 100 million cubic metres, far larger than Boeing’s Everett factory. The development is expected to create thousands of jobs, according to Reuters.

Fiserv’s digital asset platform has launched on Solana, enabling Roughrider Coin transfers across 90+ banks and credit unions. Origin Protocol’s OUSD has also been deployed on Solana, with reserves held at institutions including BlackRock. Separately, a drone defense company recorded more trading volume on Solana on-chain than on its home exchange. Solana’s Q3 app revenue reached $365M, extending its lead for a 10th consecutive quarter.

ECB President Christine Lagarde met with payment providers and digital euro participants and is inviting online retailers to join the project’s 2027 digital euro pilot. Quant Network has been officially selected by the ECB as a digital euro “pioneer partner” working on programmable conditional payments. Lagarde has previously mentioned Ripple in discussions about fintech and changes to cross-border payments. The digital euro project is moving closer to real-world payment use cases, with Quant Network involved in the experiment phase.

Paxos Labs launched PAXGy on September 24, a token built around PAX Gold that channels underlying gold exposure into institutional bullion-lending markets to generate yield. PAXGy’s exchange rate against PAXG is designed to rise as lending income accrues. The token is available on OKX, Uniswap, 0x, X Layer and Ether.fi, giving PAXG holders a way to earn on-chain yield without selling their gold.

Scroll has completed a major upgrade to the proving system behind its zkEVM, moving from OpenVM v1.6.0 to OpenVM v2.0.0 and replacing the underlying proof system with SWIRL. The upgrade was executed on September 22 and required deploying a new onchain verifier contract on Ethereum. The new stack uses SWIRL via STARK Backend v2.0.0 and adds a new recursive verifier circuit, a continuation aggregation pipeline and a deferral framework. The release also integrates three security fixes previously shipped in OpenVM v1.7.0 to improve network reliability.

Polygon has published version 2.0 of its Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) white paper for the POL token, dated September 15, 2026. The original POL white paper was notified to the Central Bank of Ireland in December 2025 and made public in January 2026. The updated filing, submitted on August 25, 2026, adds Digital Token Identifier information required under the current submission process. Polygon said the revision supports MiCA compliance and documents POL’s admission to trading across multiple EU and EEA venues.

On October 1, 2026, the Ethereum Foundation and the Open Anonymity Project launched zkAPI on Ethereum mainnet, enabling users to pay metered API fees without revealing their identity. Users can deposit credits such as ETH or USDC into an on-chain vault contract in a single transaction. Spending is authorized with Groth16 proofs on the BN254 curve, using Poseidon hash commitments and a nullifier to prevent double-spends. Payment notes are tracked in a 32-level Merkle tree.

South Korea’s ultrawealthy investors pared back Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix in the third quarter, posting net sales of about 864.8 billion won and 718.9 billion won, respectively, the largest sell-offs among domestic stocks.
