Solana Approves SIMD0266 Upgrade to Boost Transaction Speed Up to 19X, Set for April Launch

Solana has approved the SIMD0266 upgrade proposal, which introduces a new ptokens model that could increase transaction speed by up to 19X, according to the project's latest update. The upgrade, proposed last year by Anza, is scheduled to go live in April, Solana Foundation Vice President Jacob Creech said. The ptokens model is expected to significantly lower token transfer costs and boost the network's overall transaction capacity.
