OKX and ICE propose 24/7 venue for tokenized U.S. stocks under SEC innovation exemption
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
The SEC's new "Innovation Exemption" enables OKX and ICE to pursue 24/7 trading of tokenized U.S. equities via permissioned Uniswap v4 pools on OKX's XLayer, signaling a meaningful regulatory opening for tokenized securities. This boosts credibility and potential onchain volumes for DEX infrastructure and related venues. Issuer opt-outs (e.g., CBRS objection) add implementation risk and could limit breadth of listings.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission issued a notice on Oct. 4 under its newly launched “Innovation Exemption,” allowing OKX to partner with Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) to offer 24/7 trading in tokenized U.S. stocks. The exemption permits qualifying venues to trade tokenized securities without registering as traditional exchanges, subject to SEC conditions. The notice lists more than 60 companies whose shares could be tokenized, including Nvidia, Tesla, Apple, Microsoft and SpaceX, with trading routed through permissioned Uniswap v4 liquidity pools on OKX’s layer2 network XLayer. Companies have 30 days after receiving notice to object.
