Metaplanet sold 10,000 BTC and repurchased 11,000 in Q3, ending Sept. 30 with 44,000 Bitcoin

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Metaplanet sold 10,000 BTC to demonstrate liquidity and improve its credit profile, then repurchased 11,000 BTC at a higher price, ending Q3 with 44,000 BTC. The sequence signals growing institutionalization of Bitcoin-treasury balance sheets and potential expansion of Bitcoin-linked funding (bonds, preferreds, collateralized facilities). Near term, it highlights treasury-company flow risk and the cost of monetizing reserves during rising markets.

Tokyo-listed Metaplanet released preliminary, unaudited third-quarter figures showing it sold 10,000 bitcoin at an average ¥12.47 million per coin, raising ¥124.7 billion. It later bought back 11,000 bitcoin at an average ¥13.63 million, spending ¥149.9 billion and lifting holdings by a net 1,000 BTC. The roughly ¥1.16 million gap between the sale and repurchase prices implies an adverse price differential of about ¥11.57 billion on the 10,000 BTC replaced. The company said the transactions were intended to strengthen its credit profile and broaden its approach beyond pure accumulation, with quarter-end holdings rising to 44,000 BTC.
