Solana’s on-chain market for tokenized equities posted a milestone as more than 20 stocks—including NKE, GRND, HTZ and DKNG—went live on the network via Sunrise and were issued by Backpack Securities. Tokenized $GRND recorded more than $31M in trading in its first 24 hours, exceeding its previous day’s U.S. market volume. The update also said 63% of tokenized equity trading took place after the U.S. closing bell and holder addresses surpassed 727K. Solana also announced a $100K-prize tokenized equities hackathon, Stocklana, and a Washington x Wall Street Summit scheduled for Sept. 14 featuring SEC Chair Paul Atkins and Commissioner Hester Peirce.

Willis Towers Watson filed a lawsuit in Boston after 18 employees resigned within 44 minutes and joined rival Lockton. The team focused on insurance and risk management for the construction industry and generated more than $5 million in annual revenue. Willis Towers Watson generates roughly $10 billion in annual revenue, while Lockton is the largest privately held independent insurance broker in the U.S. with global revenue of approximately $4.5 billion.

Dell Technologies reported fiscal Q2 2027 revenue of $47.0 billion and adjusted EPS of $7.04, both record highs. Infrastructure Solutions Group revenue surged 89% year over year to $31.8 billion, fueled by strong AI server demand, while Client Solutions Group delivered its strongest commercial growth in more than four years. Management raised its full-year revenue outlook to $192 billion and lifted its EPS guidance to $25.50.

OpenAI is unlikely to go public in 2025 as it focuses on addressing safety concerns around artificial intelligence, CEO Sam Altman said. He called 2025 an “ill-advised moment” for an IPO and suggested a listing is more likely in 2026, according to Fortune. Separately, OpenAI and rival Anthropic have been preparing for potential stock market debuts, though neither has listed shares yet. Anthropic is aiming for a valuation of as much as $1 trillion in an IPO, Reuters reported.

International oil prices are rising amid the conflict in Iran, adding pressure to households that rely on heating oil. In the UK, heating oil has climbed from about 60p a litre before the conflict to about 97p a litre, according to price comparison website Boiler Juice. The UK government said it is providing £53m to support heating oil users and allocating £1bn to local authorities through the Crisis and Resilience Fund. It also said it has cut duty on red diesel used by agriculture and fishing to its lowest rate in more than 20 years.

OpenAI has ruled out a 2026 initial public offering, with chief executive Sam Altman saying AI safety challenges make it a poor time to list. The company had previously discussed a potentially trilliondollar IPO with 2026 as an initial target. It has now pushed the likely timetable to 2027. Altman said the team faces significant responsibility regardless of timing.

Crude oil climbed above $US100 a barrel last week, with jet fuel rising to $US163 as the war drags on. Qantas said its fuel bill increased by $610 million in the year to June 2026, and it expects jet fuel prices to stay elevated through the rest of calendar year 2026. Virgin Australia said it is more exposed after its hedging of jet fuel refining margins fell from around 80 per cent to only 20 per cent for 1H27, and its fuel costs could rise by as much as $700 million. Average diesel prices have also jumped 45%.

US inflation ran hotter than expected in August, and producer prices posted their biggest month-on-month rise since May, reinforcing expectations for a Federal Reserve rate hike next week.
