XRP slips below $1 for first time since Trump's 2024 election win as bearish wagers build; 200,000 XRP reportedly stolen

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
XRP fell below $1 for the first time since Trump’s 2024 election win, signaling a decisive loss of a key psychological level amid intensifying sell pressure. Derivatives positioning has turned more bearish as leverage rebuilds quickly and Binance XRP open interest rebounded sharply, implying renewed speculative risk and potential volatility. A reported theft of 200,000 XRP further weakens sentiment by adding idiosyncratic security and trust concerns.

XRP fell below the $1 mark for the first time since Donald Trump won the U.S. presidential election in November 2024, hitting an intraday low of $0.99, its weakest level in more than 18 months. The token first broke above $1 on Nov. 16, 2024 and extended gains in the months that followed, topping out at $3.42 in July 2025. Selling pressure has intensified recently as bearish positioning accelerates and leveraged exposure is rapidly rebuilt, pushing open interest higher. CryptoQuant data show the seven-day change in XRP open interest on Binance flipped from -13% on Aug. 1 to +7.4% on Aug. 11. Over that period, open interest rose by $171 million, up 20.5%, reversing roughly $227 million. Market sentiment was also weighed down by reports of a theft involving 200,000 XRP.
