AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Trump's announcement of raising U.S. tariffs on Canadian autos, auto parts, and steel to 50% (effective Jan 1, 2027) signals renewed North American trade friction. The headline risk increases uncertainty for cross-border supply chains, manufacturing margins, and Canada's export outlook, potentially tightening financial conditions for Canada-relative assets. Aug. 24 — U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States will increase tariffs on Canadian automobiles and steel to 50%, with the new rate set to take effect Jan. 1, 2027. In a post, Trump accused Canada of "taking advantage" of the United States for years. He said Canada maintains "absurdly high" tariffs on U.S. farmers and agricultural products, and argued that bilateral trade has produced a $60 billion deficit for the U.S. Trump said the 50% tariff will apply to all cars and trucks, regardless of size, as well as auto parts and steel. He added that products "made in the USA" would face no tariffs. Trump also said Canada would no longer be treated "like a state" and described Canada as among the most difficult countries to negotiate with. He claimed Canada depends heavily on the U.S. market, saying 95% of Canada's business is with the United States.
