Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission has moved its proposal for domestic Bitcoin and Ether spot exchange-traded funds from the principles stage to draft regulation, launching a public consultation through Sept. 20.
Under the draft, only passive ETFs tracking Bitcoin or Ether would be permitted in the initial phase. Each fund would be required to maintain net exposure above 80% of its average annual net asset value and comply with investor protection standards recognized by the regulator.
