Sony-affiliated Japanese exchange S.BLOX lists Cardano (ADA) and debuts Midnight's NIGHT token

Japan's regulated crypto exchange S.BLOX, part of Sony Group Corporation, began offering Cardano (ADA) trading on Aug. 24, 2026. The platform also opened trading for NIGHT, making it the first domestic Japanese exchange to list the token tied to Midnight, Cardano's privacy-focused sidechain. S.BLOX is operated under Sony OnChain Technologies Inc., a Sony Group subsidiary that acquired the exchange platform in August 2023. The rollout expands available trading pairs for local users within a framework overseen by Japanese financial regulators. In an announcement on X, S.BLOX confirmed ADA trading was available immediately and said NIGHT had been added at the same time. Company materials stated no other Japan-based operator had supported the token prior to the listing. To mark the commercial launch, S.BLOX introduced two promotions: eligible registered users can receive rewards of up to 10,000 yen in ADA and up to 14,000 yen in NIGHT, subject to the exchange's campaign requirements. Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson referenced the development in a recent livestream, describing a Japan listing as a meaningful milestone given the technical reviews and compliance checks required by the Japan Financial Services Agency (JFSA). Midnight began mainnet technical operations in March 2026, and the NIGHT token was issued in December 2025. Market watchers say a listing on a Sony-backed venue could support liquidity for both assets across Asia this quarter. S.BLOX said its ADA and NIGHT campaigns will run through August 2026, based on the schedule posted on its official channels.
