Solana's RWA Market Tops $4B as Slot Time Drops to 350ms

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Solana's RWA ecosystem surpassing $4B alongside a slot-time cut from 400ms to 350ms strengthens the network's tokenization narrative and improves latency for higher-frequency onchain activity. Reported RWA inflows and faster staged upgrades (toward 200ms slots) may support deeper liquidity in tokenized Treasuries and equities on SPL venues. The news highlights competitive momentum versus Ethereum in recent RWA growth, despite Ethereum's larger base.

Solana's real-world asset (RWA) ecosystem has climbed past $4 billion in total value, according to a Solana post dated August 23. The milestone comes as the network begins a multi-step performance upgrade: validators have activated the first phase of SIMD0525, cutting the target slot time from 400 milliseconds to 350 milliseconds at epoch 1020. The two trends are reinforcing each other. Tokenized financial products are gaining traction on Solana, and lower network latency is intended to make high-frequency onchain activity more viable. Solana Compass data showed average user throughput of 1,710 transactions per second over the six days ahead of the upgrade, with compute utilization at 27.7% of the prior block ceiling. Market data cited by Motley Fool indicated Solana drew $263 million in RWA inflows over the 30 days through August 19, while Ethereum saw $337 million in outflows over the same window. Solana's RWA market expanded 10.6% during that period, compared with 1.3% growth for Ethereum. Tokenized U.S. Treasuries accounted for roughly $1.2 billion of Solana's RWA total and rose 16.1% in the same timeframe. Product coverage is also widening. Backed Finance's xStocks has broadened its lineup of tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs issued as SPL tokens, with access through Solana-based venues such as Raydium, Jupiter and Kamino. Even with the jump to $4 billion, Solana remains behind Ethereum in overall scale. Ethereum's RWA base stood at about $17.2 billion as of August 22, underscoring that Solana is not yet the largest venue for tokenized assets but is expanding quickly. On the infrastructure side, SIMD0525 maps out four reductions in slot time: 400ms to 350ms, then 300ms, 250ms and 200ms. Each step requires validator approval and a stability period before going live. Solana's upgrade documentation says shorter slots are aimed at improving latency and strengthening competitiveness. The proposal also revises per-slot compute limits as block intervals shrink, keeping overall compute capacity broadly aligned with the network's existing rate. In other words, faster slots do not automatically translate into proportional increases in execution capacity. Finality remains a separate metric from slot time. Solana's current TowerBFT consensus posts finality of around 12.8 seconds, while the planned Alpenglow redesign targets roughly 150ms median finality in simulations. Solana lists Agave 4.3, which includes Alpenglow, as scheduled for October 2026.
