S&P 500 Climbs 8% in October Excluding AI as Tech Stocks Fall
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
The divergence is significant: headline S&P strength is driven by non-AI constituents while AI and tech leadership unwinds, with the Nasdaq 100 losing about $4 trillion in market cap and tech breadth severely damaged. This implies index-level resilience but fragile underlying sentiment. Short-term, expect continued rotation and elevated volatility, especially in tech-heavy exposures.

The Kobeissi Letter said in a post on X that the Nasdaq 100 shed roughly $4 trillion in market value over 25 days. AI-related stocks fell more than 13% in October. The S&P 500 excluding AI stocks gained 8% over the same period and hit a record high on Friday. The S&P 500 itself is just 3.5% below its all-time high, yet about 58% of its components are at least 20% below their peaks. Some 75% of technology stocks are in bear-market territory, and 91% of information technology sector stocks are down at least 10% from their highs. The Kobeissi Letter said selling pressure is concentrated mainly in technology-related names. With most investors heavily exposed to tech, many are feeling market stress far worse than the major indices imply. It added that record capital spending tied to the AI technology revolution, together with normal market corrections, could set the stage for the next rally. It expects significant volatility to persist through November.
