Saylor urges BIP110 supporters to step aside as Bitcoin signaling stalls

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Michael Saylor urging BIP110 supporters to "stand down" underscores low signaling (2.70%) and fading odds of meeting the soft-fork threshold, with major mining pools reportedly sitting out and Bitcoin Core unmerged. The approaching mandatory signaling window raises governance and coordination risk, but the base case remains continuity of the main chain. Near-term impact is centered on miner behavior, node policy divergence, and narrative around Bitcoin's blockspace priorities.

Michael Saylor (@saylor) is calling on supporters of Bitcoin Improvement Proposal 110 (BIP110) to "stand down," arguing the soft fork has no path to pass this cycle. He pointed to signaling stuck at 2.70%, making the 55% voluntary threshold mathematically unattainable for the current period. BIP110 aims to curb inscription-style data in an effort to reduce blockchain bloat. It is set to enter a mandatory signaling window around August 9, when enforcing nodes would begin rejecting blocks that fail to signal — currently about 97% of blocks. Backers say the limits would refocus Bitcoin on its role as money and reduce operational strain for node operators. But the proposal remains unmerged in Bitcoin Core, and four mining pools controlling more than 70% of hashrate are not participating. Without a reversal from major miners, Bitcoin's main chain is expected to continue unchanged, while BIP110 faces the prospect of stalling or fading into irrelevance.
