Indian equities set for a higher open as Fed hike jitters fade and oil retreats

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Easing fears of additional Fed tightening alongside a pullback in Brent crude is supporting risk sentiment in Asia and is expected to lift Indian equities after an extended weekly losing streak. Lower oil prices reduce India's inflation and current-account pressure, improving near-term macro conditions. Persistent foreign outflows remain a headwind, though domestic institutional buying is partially offsetting selling pressure.

Indian shares are expected to open higher on Monday after logging their longest weekly losing streak in 25 years, supported by easing concerns over U.S. Federal Reserve rate hikes and a pullback in crude. Brent fell 0.6% to $101.6 a barrel, while other Asian equities rose 0.2%. Foreign portfolio investors were net sellers for a sixth straight session, offloading 94.84 billion rupees on Thursday. Domestic institutional investors bought 100.42 billion rupees, largely offsetting the outflows.
