UK's Prudential Group, one of the promoters of ICICI Prudential AMC, plans to sell up to 9.885 million shares—equivalent to 2% of the company's total equity—through the open market on Aug. 27. After the sale, the combined holding of the promoters and promoter group is set to decline to 85.60% from 87.60%. Co-promoter ICICI Bank said it will not buy shares of the asset manager from the open market on the same day. The stock was down 1.90% on Wednesday at 3,223.60 rupees.
