Hashdex to Wind Down and Liquidate $14.7M U.S. Spot Bitcoin ETF in August

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Hashdex will liquidate its $14.7M U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF, delisting after Aug 17 and distributing cash after selling remaining BTC holdings. The closure reflects low AUM, liquidity, and product-line economics rather than a broad shift in demand, given Hashdex still manages $200M+ for U.S. investors. Near-term impact is primarily localized ETF-related BTC selling and minor sentiment effects around spot ETF viability at small scale.

Crypto asset manager Hashdex will close and liquidate its U.S. spot Bitcoin fund, the Hashdex Bitcoin ETF, which oversees about $14.7 million in assets, ChainCatcher reported. Trading in the ETF will end and the fund is set to be delisted after the market close on Aug. 17. Investors who continue to hold shares are expected to receive a cash distribution around Aug. 28, after the fund sells its remaining Bitcoin holdings. Hashdex said that following the final trading day, the ETF will unwind its remaining Bitcoin positions and shift exclusively to wind-down activities, including safeguarding asset value, settling liabilities, and distributing any remaining assets to shareholders. The firm said it made the liquidation decision after reviewing the fund's assets under management, trading liquidity, operating expenses, investor demand, and its role within Hashdex's broader product lineup. Hashdex added that it continues to manage more than $200 million in investment products for U.S. investors.
