Ethereum's mainnet has completed its first atomic cross-chain transaction from Layer 1 to Layer 2, a milestone that brings atomic, synchronous composability to production on mainnet. Eduardo Antuña, a core contributor to the Ethereum Economic Zone (EEZ), said in a post on X that the capability has moved beyond theory. Antuña added that the achievement marks the start of EEZ's broader push to support synchronized cross-layer interactions and unified liquidity across Ethereum.
