ChainCatcher reports that Core Lightning (CLN) maintainers have told node operators to take their nodes offline unless they upgrade to a not-yet-released version, citing a critical vulnerability. The alert circulated in Discord and was further amplified by Calle, a developer of the Cashu protocol. CLN said the patched binary has not been released and details of the flaw are under a two-week embargo.
The incident is the fourth security warning tied to Bitcoin infrastructure in the past four weeks. Earlier, a Coldcard firmware vulnerability was linked to the theft of roughly $114 million in BTC, followed by security issues involving Boltz and BTCPay Server.
CLN also said it has received multiple AI-generated CVE reports over the last 10 days and is working urgently to verify and remediate them.
