Brazil's crypto buying falls to $572M in July, down nearly 80% from June
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Brazil Central Bank data show July crypto purchase volume fell to $572M, down ~80% MoM, which signals a sharp cooling in local spot demand and liquidity. Officials attribute the drop to exchanges adjusting to stricter digital-asset rules, including AML and governance requirements, implying near-term friction in on/off-ramps. The BCB notes transactions are dominated by stablecoins, suggesting reduced speculative risk-taking rather than broad capital flight.

Crypto purchases in Brazil totaled $572 million in July, according to Brazil's Central Bank (BCB), marking an almost 80% drop from $2.6 billion in June and a roughly 60% decline from $1.4 billion in July 2025.
Fernando Rocha, head of the BCB's statistics department, said the shift reflects crypto exchanges adjusting to Brazil's new digital-asset regulatory framework. He cited tighter anti-money-laundering controls and governance requirements as key drivers behind the weaker trading activity.
The BCB added that cumulative crypto purchases since 2026 have reached $15.25 billion, more than doubling the $7.6 billion recorded over the same period in 2025. Most of the transactions were linked to stablecoins. (Bitcoin.com News)
