Galaxy Digital said on Aug. 4 it has entered a strategic partnership with The Bank of New York Mellon (BNY) to expand digital-asset infrastructure for institutional markets, according to Huoxing Finance. The collaboration is set to support services such as staking, which allows eligible digital assets to earn yield rewards.
Under the arrangement, the firms plan to combine BNY's digital-asset custody platform with Galaxy's capabilities across proof-of-stake (PoS) networks, integrating custody and staking into a single institutional-grade offering. The goal is to provide institutional clients with a seamless staking experience through secure, streamlined processes.
Galaxy will also act as a design partner to help enhance BNY's digital-asset platform infrastructure. BNY's staking services and related infrastructure upgrades remain subject to regulatory review.
