BitGo plans to swap out LayerZero for Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) as the sole cross-chain service provider supporting its $7.3 billion worth of WBTC. The change follows a $292 million cross-chain bridge exploit involving Kelp, after which several projects said they would move from LayerZero to Chainlink. Disclosed migration totals now stand at $14.5 billion. BitGo said it will use CCIP for future assets while keeping control of token contracts, rate limits, and transfer parameters.
