Bitcoin Tops $79,000 Ahead of Jackson Hole Spotlight
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Bitcoin's surge above $79,000 is being framed as high-level consolidation, supported by ~$1.92B of inflows into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs and short liquidations. Macro cross-currents—elevated long-end Treasury yields, Hormuz-related energy/inflation risks—and evolving SEC/CFTC and Clarity Act dynamics add uncertainty. Near-term positioning is likely to be driven by Jackson Hole rate guidance and the durability of capital flows.

Bitcoin surged in recent days and broke above $79,000, extending a sharp rally that has sparked debate over what's driving the move and whether it can last. Hong Kong-based Bitfire Research said the market may now be entering a high-level consolidation phase following the breakout.
In its report, Bitfire Research attributed the latest jump to a mix of geopolitical risk, U.S. long-term yields and shifting expectations around crypto regulation. Analysts pointed to renewed uncertainty around the Strait of Hormuz, which has fueled concerns about energy prices and inflation. They also highlighted a brief move in the U.S. 30-year Treasury yield to around 5.337% as an additional headwind for risk assets.
On the policy front, the firm cited the SEC's proposed rules on crypto assets, the rollout of relevant CFTC policies, and the trajectory of the Clarity Act as key swing factors. The analysts argued that reducing regulatory uncertainty could help lift institutional confidence and support growth in tokenized financial products.
Bitfire Research said capital flows remain the decisive variable. The firm estimates roughly $1.92 billion has flowed into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs, while large-scale short liquidations have also contributed to the upswing. Whether those inflows persist will likely determine if the rebound evolves into a durable medium-term uptrend.
Crypto markets have started to trade sideways after a weekly jump of more than 20% as attention turns to the Jackson Hole Symposium. Bitcoin's weekly gain topped 24% after clearing $79,000. XRP led the week with a 50% rise, while Ethereum climbed 32%, Dogecoin 32% and Solana 27%.
Investors are now focused on Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh's first Jackson Hole speech. Markets are watching for any signal on the path of interest rates, especially as oil-driven inflation pressures and elevated bond yields cloud expectations for rate cuts. Warsh's comments are widely seen as a potential catalyst for the next move in crypto.
