Uniswap's Hayden Adams Warns of Scam Ads and Clone Sites After User Reports Mid-Six-Figure Loss

Uniswap founder Hayden Adams warned of scam ads and fake apps impersonating the decentralized exchange after a user reported a mid-six-figure wallet loss, according to his X post. Fraudulent campaigns include clone sites and paid search ads on major engines that surface lookalike links for "Uniswap" searches, leading users to connect wallets that attackers can drain. Uniswap faced similar spoofed interfaces in October 2024, when Cointelegraph reported a fake site copying its branding but replacing key buttons with unsafe prompts. CertiK data show January scams and exploits totaled about $370.3 million across 40 incidents, with roughly $284 million attributed to a single social engineering case.
