Trump Announces 10% Global Tariff to Take Effect in Three Days Under Section 122

U.S. President Donald Trump announced a new 10% global tariff to take effect three days after signing, citing Section 122 authority following a Supreme Court ruling that blocked tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. The measure applies to all trading partners on top of existing import duties and will run for five months, with any extension subject to Congress, Trump said on Truth Social. All Section 232 national security tariffs and Section 301 tariffs remain fully in force, and the administration will launch new Section 301 investigations during the period. Bitcoin showed little reaction after the announcement and traded in a narrow range, market data show.
