Meta, Coinbase and Kraken Unveil Superapp Features on Feb. 24 Amid SEC Regulatory Shift

Meta, Coinbase and Kraken rolled out new superapp features on Feb. 24, Bitwise Asset Management CIO Matt Hougan said. Meta plans to enable stablecoin payments across Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram for roughly 3 billion users; Coinbase activated 24/5 zero-commission stock trading; Kraken launched 24/7 perpetuals on tokenized equities. Hougan attributed the moves to clearer U.S. SEC guidance that is prompting firms to integrate payments, trading and digital assets on mainstream platforms. Meta Communications Director Andy Stone clarified the same day that Meta has no stablecoin and the effort aims to let users and businesses pay using their preferred methods.
