Bitcoin briefly hits $71,928 after ETF inflows exceed $680 million

Bitcoin climbed above $71,000 on Wednesday and briefly touched $71,928, its highest level in nearly a month, after gaining almost 9% in 24 hours before easing to $71,343, up 5.62% at press time, U.Today reports. The move followed a drop to as low as $63,019 on Saturday and coincided with more than $680 million in combined inflows into U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds on Monday and Tuesday, Bloomberg data show. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said Bitcoin "woke up today and chose green", while longtime critic Peter Schiff called the rally above $71,000 a "head fake" and urged investors to sell Bitcoin in favor of gold or silver. Despite the rebound, Bitcoin remains about 43% below its October all-time high after a months-long selloff.
