MIIF posts GH¢1.1bn profit in FY2025 after royalty retention cut to 2%
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Ghana's MIIF reported GH¢1.1bn FY2025 profit despite a sharp cut in its royalty retention to 2%, signaling stronger balance-sheet efficiency and deleveraging. More importantly for commodities, H1 2026 mining royalties nearly matched full-year 2025 totals, driven overwhelmingly by large-scale gold. The data imply accelerating gold output and improved compliance/collection infrastructure, supportive for perceptions of regional gold supply dynamics.

Ghana’s Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) reported an audited profit of GH¢1.1 billion for the 2025 financial year, despite retaining only 2% of mineral royalties and free-carried dividend income under the Minerals Income Investment Fund (Amendment) Act, 2025 (Act 1137). In the first half of 2026, the mining sector generated GH¢5.39 billion in royalties, already 98% of the GH¢5.43 billion collected across all of 2025. Large-scale gold accounted for GH¢5.31 billion of the six-month total. The figures point to stronger gold-mining activity and a closer link between physical gold output and revenue performance.
