Morgan Stanley Files for National Digital Asset Trust Charter to Offer Custody and Staking
Morgan Stanley filed on February 18, 2026, to establish a national digital asset trust bank called Morgan Stanley Digital Trust, National Association (MSDTNA), according to a public listing from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). Nonconfidential materials show the trust would offer custody for certain assets, execute purchases, sales, swaps and transfers to support client investments, and provide fiduciary staking, with a main office in Purchase, New York, and services planned nationwide subject to regulatory approval. The move follows OCC conditional approvals in December 2025 and February 2026 for several crypto-focused national trust charters, with Coinbase and World Liberty Financial also pursuing applications.
