IRGC Strikes Oil Tanker Prima with Drone in Strait of Hormuz

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) struck the oil tanker Prima with a drone in the Strait of Hormuz after the vessel ignored repeated warnings about a traffic prohibition, according to a statement on Telegram cited by BBC. The IRGC Navy said it is blocking oil tankers and commercial ships allied with hostile countries from passing through the strait. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's key energy shipping lanes, with about a fifth of global oil and gas flows moving through the corridor, BBC reports.
