Nvidia partner Foxconn posts 47% Q3 sales jump to $95.4 billion
Hon Hai Precision Industry (Foxconn), a partner of Nvidia, said third-quarter sales rose 47% year on year to $95.4 billion, beating the market estimate of $89 billion. September revenue climbed 38% from a year earlier to NT$1.16 trillion, marking the company’s first month above NT$1 trillion. OPEC+ keeps November oil output targets unchanged at about 31.0 million bpd as Hormuz remains largely shut
Seven OPEC+ members decided on Sunday to keep their November oil output targets unchanged, with combined required production totaling about 31.0 million barrels a day. Saudi Arabia’s target is 10.478 million barrels a day, Russia’s 9.949 million, and Iraq’s 4.431 million. Shipping through the Strait of Hormuz remained extremely low, averaging about 3.7 vessels a day in September, far below the prewar 68. OPEC+’s monitoring committee warned that repairing damaged energy infrastructure is slow and costly.

Brent October settles at $93.78 as Hormuz flows slide to 4.9 million bpd
Brent October futures settled at $93.78 a barrel, up 2.4%, while WTI October settled at $86.83. Crude transiting the Strait of Hormuz fell sharply from 21.6 million barrels a day to 4.9 million. Iran’s central bank governor said the country’s oil exports have virtually stopped. Global production in 2026 is forecast at 100.8 million barrels a day versus consumption of 102.7 million, widening the supply shortfall.

OCC sees 40 new bank charter filings in 18 months as fintech access widens
The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency said it received 40 de novo bank charter applications over the past 18 months, far above the fewer than four per year it saw from 2011 to 2014. Five digital asset companies received conditional national trust bank approvals on 12 December 2025, and a Circle unit won final approval on 10 July 2026. A rewritten chartering rule took effect on 1 April 2026, and the regulator said the U.S. banking system is open again.

Alphabet rises to Berkshire Hathaway’s third-largest holding at about $36.6 billion in Q2 filing
Berkshire Hathaway’s Q2 13F filing shows a sharp increase in its stake in Google parent Alphabet, lifting the holding to about $36.6 billion and making it the portfolio’s third-largest position behind Apple and American Express.
