Hong Kong to Issue First Stablecoin Licenses Next Month, Draft Digital Asset Bill This Year

Hong Kong will issue its first stablecoin issuer licenses next month, Finance Secretary Paul Chan said in his 2026-27 budget speech today. Chan also said the government will introduce a bill this year to establish a licensing regime for digital asset dealers and custodians.
