Carnival said it will withdraw the Carnival Luminosa and Carnival Adventure from the Australian market in March 2028, leaving Carnival Splendor and Carnival Encounter as its only ships deployed in the country. The move halves its annual local deployment capacity. The cruise line cited rising operating costs and uncertainty over the regulatory outlook. Canberra has extended the coastal trading exemption to the end of 2028, but Carnival signaled that this did not clear up its concerns about the rules that follow.
