Goodyear says Fayetteville plant closure will help reshape Americas manufacturing network
Goodyear reiterated the planned closure in its Aug. 5 second-quarter earnings announcement, saying the Fayetteville facility will be closed as part of a strategy to “align its footprint with its evolving product portfolio and improve the competitiveness of its manufacturing network in the Americas.” The company expects the action to improve Americas segment operating income by about $90 million in 2027 and approximately $270 million annually beginning in 2028, according to the earnings release.

BASF lifts 2026 earnings outlook after Q2 sales rise to €17.2 billion

Olin and Huntsman move closer to all-stock merger after SEC clears S-4 filing
Olin Corporation (OLIN) and Huntsman Corporation (HUN) said the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission declared effective Olin’s Form S-4 registration statement for their previously announced all-stock merger. The companies plan to hold special shareholder meetings on August 25, 2026 to vote on the deal. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2027, with the combined company to be named OlinHuntsman and targeting more than $400 million in synergies.

Reliance Industries and Meta to build a 168 MW AI data center in Jamnagar, Gujarat, delivered within two years
Meta Platforms and Reliance Industries said they will jointly develop a built-to-suit AI data center in Jamnagar, Gujarat, with 168 MW of capacity to be delivered within two years, with an option to scale. It will be Meta’s first built-to-suit data center capacity in India and will support Meta’s global infrastructure, including AI compute needs. Reliance Industries will provide end-to-end services across the facility’s lifecycle, from design and construction to fully managed operations.
