Coca-Cola raises full-year outlook, but 29% rally leaves just 6% upside to $94.25 target
Coca-Cola posted stronger-than-expected second-quarter results, with organic sales up 6%, comparable operating margin at 35.6% and comparable EPS rising 11% to $0.97. The company also lifted its full-year guidance, including raising its free cash flow outlook to about $12.4 billion from $12.2 billion. Still, the stock is up 29% year to date, and the average price target of $94.25 implies only about 6% upside.

SoftBank shares jump over 7% after announcing $11.1 billion bond sale to fund OpenAI investment
SoftBank Group said it will raise $11.1 billion through bond issuance, including $10 billion in dollar-denominated senior notes and 1 billion euros ($1.14 billion) in euro-denominated notes. The company plans to use the proceeds to make a $10 billion payment for the third and final tranche of its $30 billion follow-on investment in OpenAI, a deal expected to close Oct. 1. The investment would lift SoftBank’s cumulative backing of the ChatGPT maker to $64.6 billion and give it an approximately 13% stake upon completion. SoftBank shares rose more than 7% on Thursday.

Meta shares jump 11% to $741.25 after Muse AI agent launch, Wells Fargo lifts target to $796
Meta Platforms shares surged 11% to close at $741.25 on about 48 million shares, marking the stock’s biggest one-day gain since April 2025. The stock has risen more than 20% since Muse, Meta’s personal AI agent, launched on Sept. 8, with a free tier and $20 and $100 monthly plans. Wells Fargo raised its price target to $796 from $640, while Mizuho said the rollout is a meaningful step toward showing returns on AI spending. On the chart, the stock cleared resistance at $665 and weekly volume has been positive for the past four weeks.

Rothschild & Co cuts Flutter target to $119, says FanDuel turnaround is taking longer than expected
Rothschild & Co said it is losing patience with the pace of the turnaround at Flutter’s FanDuel and cut its price target to $119 from $169. The firm said FanDuel has reduced guidance four straight times, most recently lowering its 2026 EBITDA midpoint forecast by 22%. It described 2026 as another “transitional year” and said the turnaround is likely to take longer than anticipated. Flutter shares are down 58% in 2026.

Arm CEO Rene Haas says confidence is rising in meeting $2 billion AGI CPU demand target
Arm CEO Rene Haas said he is increasingly confident the company can secure enough supply to meet customer demand of $2 billion for its AI chip. The company first disclosed that demand figure on its May earnings call, double the previously outlined $1 billion, but kept its official $1 billion revenue outlook at the time and the stock fell 10%. On July’s earnings call, management said its supply confidence had improved, and the shares rose more than 7% in the following session.

Kevin Simpson adds Freeport-McMoRan to portfolio as LME copper tops $14,500 a ton
Kevin Simpson has bought shares of Freeport McMoRan, one of the world’s largest publicly traded copper producers, as copper prices climb amid tight supply. Copper on the London Metal Exchange has broken above $14,500 per metric ton to a record high. The company generated about $2 billion in operating cash flow in the second quarter and expects roughly $8.3 billion for the full year. At a $72.50 purchase price, the stock trades at about 26 times expected 2026 earnings.

PG&E CEO urges California to revive wildfire liability reform after PG&E shares fall 20% in a week
California lawmakers failed to advance a wildfire liability reform proposal, sending PG&E and Edison International shares down 20% and 21% this week, respectively. PG&E said it will cut $2 billion from its 2027 capital spending plan to $11.4 billion and has launched a strategic review. CEO Patti Poppe said an investment-grade credit rating would allow the company to restore the reduced investment and lower financing costs.
