Coinbase rolls out 24/7 U.S. gold and silver futures trading, Armstrong says
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said on June 13 that U.S. customers can now trade gold and silver futures 24/7 on Coinbase, extending crypto-style continuous access to precious metals. The contracts run through Coinbase Derivatives, and Coinbase says access is delivered via approved futures commission merchants and broker platforms, subject to eligibility and maintenance windows. Coinbase has also highlighted earlier launches for non-U.S. users and reported over $52 billion in Q1 2026 commodity futures notional volume on its derivatives venue.

CFTC Chair Mike Selig Says Agency Will Replace "Regulation by Enforcement" With Clear Crypto Rules
CFTC Chair Mike Selig, confirmed to lead the agency in December 2025, said crypto markets have faced prolonged regulatory uncertainty and that the regulator will prioritize clear, rule-based oversight over enforcement-led policymaking. As the CFTC's only sitting commissioner, he now holds unusual sway over crypto, derivatives and prediction markets, including a $36.6 billion event-contract market reported for Q1 2026. Selig also pointed to work on U.S.-regulated crypto perpetual futures and a June 10 proposal that would review prediction-market contracts under a 90-day process.

Michael Saylor says Strategy can sell Bitcoin when needed after June 1 32 BTC sale
At the BTC Prague conference on June 11, Strategy founder Michael Saylor said he "never said the company could not sell bitcoin," framing "never sell" as guidance aimed at individuals rather than a corporate promise. The comments followed Strategy's June 1 sale of 32 BTC for about $2.5 million to help fund preferred-stock dividends, a first-ever disposal that unsettled some holders.

Capriole's Charles Edwards Warns Bitcoin Treasury Leverage Is Rising at Record Rates
Capriole Investments founder Charles Edwards says bitcoin treasury firms are adding debt at record levels to finance BTC accumulation, arguing the approach depends on unsustainable "fake yield". He links the dynamic to an October 2025 warning and says the roughly 200 treasury vehicles could amplify selloffs if prices drop. The comments come as Strategy holds about 76% of corporate BTC and, per Cryptoquant, non-Strategy buying fell to a combined 1,000 BTC over 30 days, down 99% from an August 2025 peak.
